Terms of Service

Note. This is the operating policy for Car Club Connect. It is not a substitute for legal advice. We reserve the right to update these Terms; continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, joining a club, creating a club, or otherwise using Car Club Connect (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. Some features (paid event ticketing, dues, public broadcasts) may require you to be 18 or older.

3. Your account

You are responsible for everything that happens on your account. Keep your password secure, don't share it, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to harass other members, post unlawful or infringing content, impersonate another person or organization, attempt to access other accounts, send unsolicited commercial messages, or interfere with the Service's operation.

5. Creating clubs and chapters — authority & verification

Many car clubs are real-world organizations with established names, plaques, and member rolls. To protect those clubs, the following rules apply when you create a club or chapter on the Service:

  • Authority attestation. When you create a club or chapter, you expressly attest that you are an officer or designee of that club and have authority to represent it on the Service. We record the date and time of this attestation. If you lack that authority, you may not create the club, even if the name is otherwise unused on the Service.
  • Verification. We may, at our discretion, mark legitimate clubs as "Verified" based on proof we receive (officer ID, charter, plaque photo, IG handle DM, business license, etc.). The Verified badge is a service we provide; we may grant, deny, or revoke it at any time.
  • Right to remove or rename. If we determine, in our reasonable judgment and including based on community reports, that a club or chapter misrepresents an established organization, we may rename, transfer ownership of, suspend, or remove the club or chapter without prior notice. We may also notify the legitimate owner.
  • Reservation of well-known names. We may reserve names of well-known clubs from public claim and require additional proof before allowing their creation on the Service.
  • Reports. Members can report suspected impersonator clubs from inside the app. We review reports and act in good faith based on the evidence available.
  • Indemnification. If your representation that you had authority turns out to be false and a third party makes a claim against us as a result, you will hold us harmless from that claim to the extent permitted by law.

6. User content

You retain ownership of content you post (messages, photos, vehicle info, event flyers). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and transmit that content within the Service so we can deliver it to your club and connected chapters. You can revoke this license by deleting the content.

7. Public event broadcasts & emails

Verified clubs can broadcast events to nearby users via push notification and (where recipients have opted in) email. Each email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Frequency is rate-limited. Abuse of broadcast features may result in loss of broadcast privileges or removal of the chapter.

8. Payments, tickets, and dues

Payments are processed by Stripe. Dues, ticket sales, and similar transactions are between the club / chapter and its members; we facilitate but are not a party to those transactions. Refund decisions are made by the receiving club, except where required by law.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts, clubs, or chapters that violate these Terms. We will try to give notice where we reasonably can.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee uptime, message delivery, or third-party integrations (push, email, maps, Stripe). Live location, ride coordination, ticket sales, and real-world meet-ups are at your own risk; we are not responsible for offline events organized via the app.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after the "Last updated" date above indicates acceptance of the updated version. Material changes will be announced in-app where reasonable.
